My name is Steven Tran. I’m a CPA, and I’ve lived through a coupes of tax/audit season—those 70-hour weeks, the missed family dinners, the work that followed me home every night. I prepared tax returns, reconciled client billing, managed engagement files, and dealt with the limitations of CPA firm’s software every single day.
The thing that frustrated me most wasn’t the complexity of tax law or difficult clients. It was the dependency on the software that just didn’t work. All of the manual work arounds — the hours spent on tasks a computer could handle if someone just built the right automation.
These weren’t just inefficiencies. They were hours stolen from people’s lives. In 2014, I founded Silver Sea Analytics to solve this problem.
Since then, we’ve helped 40+ CPA firms across the United States reduce tax season labor costs by 20-30%. But the real measure of success isn’t in the percentages — it’s in the moments from staff who made it to their kids’ soccer games, the partners who had dinner with their spouses during March, the teams who didn’t burn out on April 15th.
